One patient – one record: Alfa eCare Clinics integrates with Cosmic
As certified Cambio Open Service Partner Alfa eCare now has an approved and completed integration between the medical record system Alfa eCare Clinics for dental care and the healthcare system CosmicThe result? Safer, more cohesive care where both dentistry and healthcare share the same patient information.
A new level of collaboration in healthcare
The need for coordination between different forms of care is growing. Patients move between dental care and healthcare – but their medical records have traditionally been fragmented. With our integration to Cosmic via Cambio Open Services (COS) We are creating a common platform for record keeping throughout the region.

What does that mean in practice?
The integration enables sharing of key patient information, referrals and attention symbols between Alfa eCare Clinics and Cosmic. This means that healthcare professionals in both dental and medical care can see the same patient record – a major advantage in clinical work.
A concrete example is diagnoses such as mucosal changes, where both dentistry and healthcare can be involved. By documenting all information in one and the same medical record, the risk of important information falling through the cracks is reduced. This contributes to both faster diagnoses and better treatment decisions.
A proven solution and long experience
Alfa eCare is not new to the field. Back in 2003, the company delivered its first integration to a regional healthcare system – then to the Norrbotten Region VAS. Later, the Halland Region also followed suit. The new COS integration is therefore a natural development of a proven concept.
In addition, the integration has been the starting point for a major technical modernization – the Alfa eCare Clinics medical record system is being redesigned to become a web client, which further improves accessibility and user experience.
